William Baine
Bill was a physician with specialties in Infectious Disease and Geriatrics. He graduated from Princeton University and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He served on the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and was an officer in the US Public Health Service for 30 years beginning as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer at CDC and ending with the rank of Senior Surgeon, equivalent to Naval Captain. He was fluent in Italian and assisted the Istituto Superiore de Sanita in Rome in establishing an epidemic intelligence service for Italy. He volunteered at the Loudoun County Department of Health for twenty years caring for HIV and TB patients.
