Walter Walvick

Soon we will have our second Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s without my beloved Walt. I still miss him even more than I expected, and I “talk to” him every day.
Walt was a wonderful, cheerful, and generous cook, and he loved having a large group of family and friends at our dining room table, especially on holidays. Among his specialties was a delightful salad of cucumbers, shredded lettuce, scallions, and sour cream. He made a delicious Grand Marnier Bundt cake. It’s fun to remember Walt sitting at the head of the table at brunch, with a card table next to him that had a waffle iron and a frying pan, with bowls of ingredients for Walt to create made-to-order omelettes for each person. He also enjoyed making his Aunt Millie’s pork meat balls and his parents’ favorite foods, such as perogies, potato pancakes, and lox and bagels.

Thank you, Walt, for all you gave us and for all we shared together.
