Rowena Gentile

Rowena San Jose Gentile, 50, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 in her home in Stafford, Virginia surrounded by her husband, parents, children and grandchildren. She fought a long, hard fight with cancer and was astoundingly strong and brave in this fight.

Rowena is survived by her husband, Michael Gentile Jr, her parents Rudolfo and Lydia San Jose, her son Rolan Urcia and his spouse Emily Meneses, her son Ivan Urcia and his spouse Princess Urcia, her son Branden Gentile, her brother Ronnel (Jake) San Jose, and her grandchildren Gabrielle Urcia, Vanessa Urcia and Camila Urcia.

Rowena was born on September 27, 1969 in Manila, Philippines. She immigrated to the USA at the age of 13 with her parents and settled in Oxon Hill, MD. She attended and graduated from Oxon Hill High School where she made many lifelong friends. She spent her career as an Accountant for various non-profit and Government contracting firms where her infectious smile and radiant personality helped to grow that list of lifelong friends. Rowena loved traveling and had loved cooking. Her greatest passion was her desire to bring joy to her family and friends through many lively gatherings that she often hosted. Rowena never placed value or importance on material items but instead valued togetherness. In this way, we as her family and closest friends commit to carrying on her legacy and values in our lives.
