Robert Donald Kemmerer Jr., of Reston, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on January 3, 1953, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert and Pauline (née Cerrone) Kemmerer.
Robert is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Kemmerer (née Pugh); and their two sons, Matthew Kemmerer (Laura) and Jonathan Kemmerer. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his five grandsons — Robert, Samuel, Christopher (CJ), Joseph, and Kevin — as well as his sister, Kathy Tagliaboschi (Joseph), and his niece and her family.
He was raised in Slatington, Pennsylvania, where he played high school football. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Middlebury College and a Master of Business Administration from The George Washington University. Robert retired from a rewarding career as an East Coast sales and contracts manager for a computer software company.
Rob’s greatest joy was his family. He treasured the memories they created together on family vacations and loved volunteering as a coach for many of his sons’ activities. He also took an active role in his grandsons’ lives, rarely missing one of their sporting events. He was a devoted and very proud grandfather.
To his family, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and guidance will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Adler Hospice Center in Aldie, Virginia.
