Laura Downey
My mom, Georgia Laxton, will forever be in my heart. She was one of my best friends and my #1 supporter. The picture shows us in Albuquerque, NM having fun. She was always there for me and my sister. She inspired me by watching her pursue her PhD when I was in my teens. She had many roles in life and many successes but in her own words “Family was everything.” Cherished great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, and so much more. My mom was a kind and caring person with a sense of humor and sense of fairness she passed along to all she came in contact with. As one of her last acts of caring, she donated her brain to help find a cure for neurodegenerative diseases. I am making a donation to Capital Caring to honor her and help others.
