Harold D. Hufford was raised in Indiana on a farm. He was taking accounting classes when World War II began. He became a Marine. He served in the Pacific on Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He owned a business in Maryland after the war and remained in Maryland the rest of his life. His favorite hobby was attending the horse races in Maryland and surrounding states. He was a proud Marine. I was thankful that he was good with mathematics because I was not. He coached me almost every night through 8th grade math. Without his help I probably would not have passed.
