Almost a year ago my mother passed away. She lived a long, full life and died at 93. However, she experienced dementia and did not recognize me for her last three years. We were fortunate to have her live in a facility that housed her with assisted living, and then skilled nursing. Hospice is a noble service to those walking through to the other side. Palliative care is critical as we baby boomers enter into that stage of life within the next two decades. Mom, I miss our daily phone calls, but know you are at peace. Love, your daughter Carol
