My mother loved Christmas. We didn’t have much money when we were growing up, but somehow she always made Christmas magical. My mom lost her life to lung cancer over 14 years ago, and I miss her every day. But each December I remember my mom with a gift to Capital Hospice. I can only describe the hospice nurses who helped us keep my mom at home with me during her last days as “angels.” They made an otherwise unbearable situation bearable, and I am forever grateful.
