Kathleen Richardson
Kathleen Ann (Jordan) Richardson, 76, of Portsmouth, Virginia, and resident of Poet’s Walk Memory Care, Leesburg, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia, with her son and “daughter-in-love” by her side.
Born August 18, 1948, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to the late Kosmar L. Jordan, Jr. and his wife, Ruth (Doyle) Jordan, she graduated in 1966 from Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, and later married Robert L. Richardson, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage until his death in 2019. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jordan; her brother-in-law, Vernon S. Richardson, III; and her nephew, Cory Jordan.
Kathy is survived by her son, Robert C. Richardson and his wife, Michelle, of Camp Hill, PA; a brother, Robert Jordan and his wife, Anna; a sister-in-law, Cathy Jordan; one granddaughter, Hannah; two nephews, a niece and their spouses.
Kathy was trained as a hairstylist and she owned her own private salon for a time, but her real vocation was her incredible talents as a seamstress and artist, lovingly crafting treasured items for family, friends and church. She was a longtime member of the former Alliance Church in Portsmouth, and counted many of her fellow parishioners as her closest friends. Kathy will be fondly remembered by her family for her determination, her strength and her loving kindness. She is deeply missed.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the medical staff at Inova Loudoun Hospital and Capital Caring Health Hospice for the care and support they provided both Kathy and her loved ones during her final days.
